Bangladesh Nari Sramik Kendro (BNSK) is an association of marginalized women workers, registered with Department/Directorate of Women Affairs under Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. Our main goal is to organize women workers and ensure their employment with rights and welfare. Although women who earn a living through their own labor or small enterprises represents 93% of the female labor force, however they do not obtain welfare & benefits like workers in the formal or organized sector. We called for ratification of ILO C189 on decent work for domestic workers during the second congress organized by IDWF and called on government and employers to support an ILO convention on gender-based violence and harassment at work. We believe that recognizing their priorities and needs will play a key part in the development process in our country.
